What makes GEOSeen different from traditional PLM search?

Traditional PLM and PDM systems search by filename, part number, or metadata tags. This requires perfect data discipline. GEOSeen is a geometric search engine that searches by geometry itself using computer vision and machine learning. It works even when parts are mislabeled, untagged, or stored in different formats. Zero training data and zero manual configuration required.

Converting 2D drawings into 3D models

How does 2D-to-3D conversion work?

GEOSeen's AI analyzes a 2D technical drawing, identifies geometric features, dimensions, and views (front, side, top, section), then automatically generates a 3D CAD model. The process uses machine learning trained on engineering drawing conventions to reconstruct three-dimensional geometry from two-dimensional projections.

How accurate is 2D-to-3D conversion?

For standard machined parts with clear multi-view projections and dimensions, conversion accuracy is high. GEOSeen provides a confidence score with each conversion so you can assess reliability before using the output in production workflows.

What output formats does 2D-to-3D conversion produce?

Converted 3D models are output in standard CAD formats including STEP and STL, ensuring compatibility with all major CAD systems. The output can be directly imported into your CAD environment for further editing or manufacturing.

Can it convert any 2D drawing to 3D?

GEOSeen handles standard engineering drawings with orthographic projections best. Highly complex freeform surfaces or drawings with ambiguous views may require manual refinement. The confidence score helps you identify which conversions are production-ready versus those needing review.

Estimating manufacturing costs from designs

How does price estimation work?

GEOSeen finds parts in your repository that are geometrically similar to the uploaded design and already have known prices attached. It uses those matches to generate a cost estimate. The more similar priced parts exist in your data, the more accurate the result. Without any matching priced parts in the repository, no estimate can be produced.

What does the confidence score mean?

The confidence score reflects how closely the uploaded part matches existing priced parts in your repository. A high score means strong geometric matches with known prices were found. A low score means few or distant matches exist, and you should treat the estimate as a rough reference and seek a proper quote.

Can price estimation work from a 2D drawing alone?

Yes, as long as there are geometrically similar 2D parts with known prices already in your repository. GEOSeen searches your existing priced drawings for matches and bases the estimate on those. A 3D model input can produce more precise geometric matches, but 2D works well when your priced parts are also in 2D format.

What CAD formats does GEOSeen support?

GEOSeen supports 20+ formats including STEP, IGES, STL, OBJ, and BREP for 3D, and DXF, DWG, PDF, and TIFF for 2D. It also accepts images (PNG, JPG) and freehand sketches as search inputs. Cross-format search means a 2D query can return 3D results and vice versa.

How fast are search queries?

Sub-100 milliseconds for most queries. GEOSeen is designed for real-time interactive use. Engineers get instant results without waiting, which makes searching and comparing parts across large repositories fast and natural.

How does GEOSeen integrate with existing systems?

GEOSeen integrates with existing PLM and PDM systems and indexes your current CAD repositories without requiring data migration. Both cloud-hosted and on-premises deployment options are available. Contact us at demo@symge.nl for integration details specific to your environment.

Is my CAD data secure?

Yes. GEOSeen processes geometric fingerprints for search, keeping your proprietary design data protected. On-premises and private cloud deployment options are available for organizations with strict data residency or security requirements.

Does GEOSeen require training data or manual setup?

No. GEOSeen works out of the box with zero training data, no Bill of Materials, and no manual configuration. Point it at your CAD repository and start searching immediately. The geometric search engine understands geometry natively without needing to learn your specific part catalog.

What industries does GEOSeen serve?

How GEOSeen pricing and pilots work

How is GEOSeen priced?

GEOSeen pricing is based on the archive you want to index, the search workflows you want to support, the modules you select, and your deployment and integration requirements. We do not publish fixed public prices because deployments vary significantly in archive size, workflow scope, and integration depth. Contact us for a scoped proposal.

Can we start with only 2D?

Yes. The 2D Search Pilot and 2D Archive Search packages are built around 2D drawing search, similar part search, and part history lookup. 3D CAD search, cross-format search, and price estimation are available as add-on modules or as part of a broader Manufacturing Intelligence deployment.

Is 3D required?

No. 3D CAD search is an optional module. Many customers start with 2D drawing search for engineering, quoting, or work-preparation workflows, then expand into 3D and cross-format search once the value is proven.

Is price estimation included?

Price estimation is available as an add-on in the 2D Archive Search package and included in Manufacturing Intelligence. The accuracy of estimates depends on the availability of geometrically similar priced parts in your indexed archive.

Can we use our own historical cost data?

Yes. GEOSeen can use your existing priced parts, quotes, and production-route records to support cost context and price estimation, where that data is available in the indexed archive.

Is on-prem deployment available?

Yes. On-premise and private cloud deployments are available under Manufacturing Intelligence. Infrastructure, implementation, and maintenance requirements are scoped separately.

What does a pilot look like?

A 2D Search Pilot typically runs 4–6 weeks on a representative 2D drawing archive with 1–2 workflow owners. We define success criteria upfront — such as faster part lookup, improved reuse, or better quote support — and validate whether GEOSeen meets them before discussing broader rollout.
